PADI Divemaster Course: The first step to your PADI professional dive career.
After becoming a PADI Open Water diver, a PADI Advanced diver and a PADI Rescue diver and after maybe even following some PADI specialty courses you are caught by the dive vibe and want to take the next step diving. Maybe you are interested in turning you hobby into your profession. You would like to become a Diveguide in Koh Tao, Thailand or a Divemaster on a Liveaboard in the Maledives. When this is your goal, the PADI Divemaster course is THE course to take to jumpstart your professional diving career.
The PADI Divemaster Course includes three parts.
We take an in depth look at the dive theory. For this we use the PADI Divemaster manual, the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving and a PADI Knowledge workbook. Guiding and assisting divers, Equipment, Physics, Physiology and knowledge about the Dive tables (PADI RDP) are all important subjects in the PADI Divemaster course. To make sure you understand the Divemaster theory, your knowledge will be tested by taking an exam.
Divemaster Confined Water Skills
During the Divemaster course you will practice all 20 skills from the PADI Open Water course so you are able to perform them at demonstration level. This means that you will be able to perform these skills in such a manner that when a PADI Open Water course member watches your demonstration, he or she will be able to understand the skill and perform it him or herself. It goes without saying that a PADI Divemaster is capable of demonstrating perfect Rescue skills as well. These skills will be practiced as well during the PADI Divemaster cursus.
During the practical skills of the course you will create an emergency assistance plan and an underwater map of a divesite. As a PADI Divemaster you will have to be able to scan a divesite in little time and brief this site for a guided tour. The most important part of this practice is an internship at several PADI dive courses or perform several role plays. At the end of the practice you perform a PADI Divemaster stress test.
Do you like guiding people on their first experience underwater or would you just like to learn more about diving, then the PADI Divemaster course is perfect for you!
The PADI Divemaster course is a very informative and practical hands on course. It takes place over two weekends.
